about
Saxophonist Léon Phal continues his rise and joins Heavenly Sweetness records !
After two albums which made him a key artist of the new jazz scene and a notoriety which now goes beyond the borders of Europe, the Franco-Swiss musician follows his way with his faithful quintet.
First single from the album "Stress Killer", the well-named "Fuck Yeah" with its definitely electro sound should hit the ears of clubbers. One thinks of the techno pioneers of the Inner City, the deep house of Chicago, the Detroit Experiment of Carl Craig or the collaborations of Laurent Garnier with jazzmen.
Built like a piece of electronic music with breaks, climbs and this keyboard loop that immediately grabs you, "Fuck Yeah" catapults the sax of Leon Phal on the dancefloor!

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
